Just 1,000 kilometers off the continental coast lie the Galapagos Islands. This National Park is comprised by 13 large islands and more than 100 smaller islands which encompass more than 8,000 square kilometers.

This Ecuadorian paradise is home to fauna and flora unique in the world. You'll see species, only found here, that have developed over the centuries, untampered by man.
Fantastic animals can be seen in their natural habitat, at arm's length, as they have not learned to fear humans. Galapagos tortoises abound in this environment, some weigh as much as 500 pounds and can live up to 300 years. Sharing this heaven are iguanas, which have not changed since prehistoric times. As the surf breaks on the sand, fur sea lions and sea lions share the warm sand, not bothered by their prehistoric neighbors nor by human visitors.
Added to this rare and unique experience is the variety of birds which inhabit the islands. Flightless cormorants, frigates, albatrosses and blue footed boobies are a rare sight anywhere else in the world but here. The Galapagos Islands are one of the few protected paradises that remain in the world. A visit here should not be missed.
